Teen Severely Injured after Crashing into a School Bus

Philadelphia, PA — A young woman has severe injuries after crashing into a school bus. The collision happened in the Cobbs Creek area of Philadelphia.

The crash occurred near the intersection of 59th Street, and Chestnut Street around 11:30 am.

The bus was parked when the multi-vehicle accident occurred. Crews freed the young woman trapped in a 2003 BMW. The car became wedged under the rear of the school bus. 

Police reported a young man, 18, drove a black Scion, and crashed into the BMW, which caused the car to become wedged under the school bus. 

Crews freed the woman and transported her to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she was reported in critical condition. Police reported no other injuries. Police have not said if the driver of the Scion will face any charges.
