Philadelphia is a big city, with a big history. What once was the former capital of America, Philly is home to the Liberty Bell, the Declaration of Independence, and born to traditions and cultures that are unlike any other city in the country.

The city of Philly is also home to the infamous Rocky Balboa statue from the 1980 classic Rocky III.

The famous Rocky Balboa statue resides at the bottom of the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

When you visit the city of Philadelphia it is almost a rite of passage to take a picture with the bronze treasure, run up the steps, and put both of your hands in the air.

That’s why we’re asking the question, “Who has had the biggest influence in your life and why?”

PhillyLaw is offering high school and college students across the country a chance at a $1000 dollar scholarship. All you have to do is submit a 500 – 1,000-word essay about what has been their greatest influence.

The Best in Philly Scholarship Contest

For PhillyLaw to consider your influence the ‘Best in Philly’, we’re asking students to submit their essay on “Influences in our community” The winning essay will be posted on PhillyLaw’s blog and receive $1,000 submitted to their school.

Overview

We are asking students to write an essay of 500 – 1000 words expressing what makes their biggest influence the ‘Best in Philly’  and why their influence is so important. Students from all backgrounds are welcome, writing about your biggest influence does not have to be about Philly.

Eligibility Rules

Applicants must be EITHER out-going high school seniors (graduating summer 2018) OR students currently enrolled in a college, trade school, or university as of the start of the fall 2018 semester.
